Moving Checklist

Discontinue at your old address:

• Telephone
• Gas and electricity
• Newspapers and subscriptions
• Milk and bread deliveries

Arrange for connection to your new house:

• Telephone
• Gas and electricity

Notify your change of address to:

• The Electoral Commission
• Your bank to transfer your account
• The post office to redirect your mail
• Your consultants/advisors including solicitor, accountant and stockbroker
• Your insurance company
• Your health insurance fund
• Roads and Traffic Authority for car registration, licences etc

Make sure you have you collected or returned:

• Your children's school records
• Your family's dental and medical records
• Dry cleaning and items left for repair
• Anything borrowed from or loaned to a neighbour
• Library books

Don't forget to also:

• Defrost your refrigerator and prepare all appliances for removal
• Dispose of all items you have decided not to take including garden chemicals, paint, mower fuel etc
• Ask us about insurance for moving and check to make sure everything is covered
• Pack your emergency kit for when you arrive at your destination
